Pastor Alex Carr came to South County Community Church in May, 2023. After serving as Interim Pastor, the church called him as Senior Pastor on September 8, 2024. He is from Birmingham, Alabama. He grew up hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ at his home church and called on the Lord Jesus to save him from his sins while at an early age. His pastor baptized him at the church and then taught him what it meant to follow Jesus for life. In March, 2002, his church affirmed his call to prepare for full-time ministry. He was officially ordained by the church on March 14, 2010 while serving in North Carolina. He holds biblical studies degrees from Union University (BA) and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv, ThM, PhD). He is the author of a book on 1 Corinthians 14:34 in the Studies in Biblical Literature Series with Peter Lang Publishing (2023). He met his wife at seminary, and they were married in 2012. They enjoy spending time with their active children. In 2024 his wife completed her Doctor of Educational Ministry in Global Missions at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
